About Us

Established in 2000, Outboard Covers Australia (OCA) has grown from a small, family business, to the largest supplier of outboard covers in the World.  Outboard Covers now has supply contracts with all the leading motor manufacturers and exports Globally.

We manufacture our covers in our own factory in Perth, Western Australia ensuring that every cover is made to the highest possible standards using the best materials available. In 2016 we launched a new fabric allowing us to offer improved warranties and a better colour range. Our relationships with the motor manufacturers gives us unrivalled access to the latest engine models and we ensure that new patterns are fully tested before going on sale.

We pride ourselves on providing a premium product utilising the latest materials and technology in order to properly protect the expensive outboard you have invested in.

Geoff and Leanne Felgate founded Outboard Covers in 2000 having toured Australia towing their motorboat and experienced at first hand the damage caused to their uncovered engine. The covers available at the time were simply not suited to their task – made of canvas or vinyl, in one-size fits all design, they flapped, scratched, faded and rotted.

Over the next two years, Geoff developed the product, researching the optimum materials and manufacturing process, making patterns for over 800 outboard engines – covering all models from 1970 to date. In 2000 the factory opened in Perth, Western Australia and OCA is proud to have made over 150,000 tailor-made engine covers that are protecting engines all over the Globe.

“I am a perfectionist and set out to design and manufacture the best outboard covers in the world – I am delighted to have achieved this goal. We manufacture from our factory in Perth to the highest standards and pride ourselves in a fast, efficient and friendly service.” Geoff Felgate.

In 2006 James Abrahams became the European distributor and opened an office in London.

“I discovered OCA on the web having searched for a decent engine cover in the UK to no avail. I ordered a cover from Geoff and was so impressed with its quality I realised we should bring this outstanding product to the European marketplace.” James Abrahams

In December 2008 Outboard Covers UK bought a share of OCA and James became a Managing Partner with Geoff Felgate. Geoff, Leanne and James are committed to further developing the company Worldwide.

We manufacture in our own factory in Perth, Western Australia in order to ensure the highest standards are maintained.

Why not Vinyl?

People also ask what is wrong with using vinyl or a padded vinyl won’t that stop the noise more and offer more protection?

Yes it MAY but as it is not breathable it will cause moisture to build up under both the cowl and cover. This will corrode the motor and damage the paint and decals.

Most people are not aware that a replacement cowl is extremely expensive and if new decals are required these are usually extra and can cost as much as one of our Splash covers.

This is typically what would happen if you made your outboard cover out of a material that does not have breathability such as vinyl or even neoprene which is used on wet suits. They do not have what Polysoft® has!

Latest Testimonial

A brief note on my experience with Geoff and Leanne Felgate’s company, Outboard Covers & Accessories (a.k.a. Outboard Covers Australia) as per www.outboardcovers.com.au.

I wholeheartedly recommend Outboard Covers Australia. Although their website does the job, I still prefer to order via phone and I am glad to say Geoff has answered the phone every time I have called. What more do you want? I have sold the Quintrex and now own a Sirocco RIB with a Honda F20; neat, fast and fun and now with a new cover for my new engine.
